System requirements

To install and operate Estate Master the following hardware is recommended.

Workstations / Standalone PC (for User/PC Licences)

• PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo (3GHz) or Quad (2.4Ghz) minimum processor (or equivalent)

  • Note to Apple Mac Users: Estate Master can only run on Mac's via a Windows Virtualization tool such as VMWare or Parallels. Click here for more information.
    
• 1GB RAM recommended minimum.

Terminal Servers (for CAS Licences)

Estate Master can only be installed on a Terminal Server for access via a network. It can not be installed on any other type of server, such as a file server.

As a general guideline, we would recommend the following for a Citrix/Terminal Server Deployment for Estate Master:

• A maximum of 30 users per server

• At least 4GB RAM (approx 128MB per user) per server

• Multiple Dual or Quad Core Processors with a CPU clock speed of at least 2.8Ghz

Any Terminal Server can operate Estate Master as long as it supports the .Net Framework.

Software Prerequisites

The following must be installed on the workstations / standalone PC (for User/PC Licences) or terminal servers (for CAS Licences) to run Estate Master:

• Microsoft Windows 98 or later OS that supports Microsoft .Net Framework.

• Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 installed (requires Internet Explorer 5.1 or higher). 

• Microsoft Excel version 2000 or later (for DF, DM and HF only). 

  • Note to Excel 2007 Users: Due to known memory-related issues with Microsoft Excel 2007 that impact a small percentage of users, it is strongly advised to thoroughly evaluate the Estate Master software on your Excel 2007 installation to ensure the software operates efficiently, before purchasing the software.

• Microsoft Report Viewer 2005 (for CC and IA only).

• Estate Master Enterprise Database (Optional: requires SQL Server 2005 or Express Edition).

Additional Software Requirements

Microsoft .Net framework (Mandatory)
	Before you can install and use Estate Master, you have to make sure that the Microsoft .Net framework has been installed on your computer.  Check here to see if the .Net Framework is installed on your computer. Run Windows Update to install the .Net Framework  or it can be downloaded from Microsoft at the following websites. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1 or Later Version (Mandatory)
	The Microsoft .Net Framework additionally requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1 or later version, before it can be installed. If you have an earlier version, you can download the latest version from Microsoft at the following website.  Microsoft Internet Explorer Website
Microsoft Report Viewer 2005 (for CC and IA only)
	The Microsoft Report Viewer 2005 Redistributable Package includes Windows Forms and ASP.NET Web server controls for viewing reports designed using Microsoft reporting technology in Estate Master CC and IA.  Download Microsoft Report Viewer 2005
SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (for Estate Master Enterprise Database only)
	SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is the next version of MSDE and is a free, easy-to-use, lightweight, and embeddable version of SQL Server 2005.
